Bio
Payam Karamooz launched his comedy career shortly after graduating college in Portland, Oregon. He began performing improv locally with friends, quickly gaining traction in the Portland comedy scene. Not long after, he was invited to tour with an improv troupe called The Kate Mackey Experience, and eventually honed his craft further by studying improv at both The Groundlings and ComedySportz.
Since 1998, Payam has been proudly embarrassing himself on every platform imaginable—stage, television, film, and the internet. He’s brought his comedic talents to a wide range of venues, including comedy clubs, fundraisers, and corporate events. Thanks to his extensive improv background, Payam effortlessly blends pre-written material with spontaneous audience interaction, making every performance feel personal and unpredictable.
His on-screen credits include appearances on The Bachelor (Season 20), 24, Dexter, Mad TV, CSI: New York, and The Cleaner. He’s also appeared in films like Star Trek, Caught in the Act, and American Dreamz.
Whether he's portraying a terrorist, a mental patient, or an over-the-top stockroom clerk, or delivering sharp, off-the-cuff stand-up, Payam Karamooz is consistently and unapologetically entertaining.
